A story of devotion in a rural Pennsylvanian town

Vikesh Kapoor’s mother delivered over 3000 children throughout her career as an obstetrician-gynaecologist in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. The artist’s new series, commissioned by Leica, in collaboration with 1854, reflects on that history.

Shoot the Sequel: Then & Now America

In collaboration with 1854/British Journal of Photography, MPB – the go-to platform for used photography and videography equipment – commissioned two new photographic projects exploring the iconic moments, movements and narratives that traverse America’s past and present.

Playing with Perception: Anastasia Samoylova’s depiction of Florida’s “Forgotten Coast”

Russian-American photographer Anastasia Samoylova was selected earlier this year to produce a new body of work for MPB in collaboration with 1854 for the Shoot the Sequel: Then & Now America campaign. The resulting images form the final part of her triptych on Florida, providing a sobering look at the state.

The WaterAid Climate Commission

In collaboration with 1854/British Journal of Photography, WaterAid is commissioning three new photographic projects exploring the ways in which the climate crisis is making it harder for people to access their basic human rights of clean water, decent sanitation and personal hygiene — especially in some of the world’s poorest countries.
