These photobooks showcase the work of emerging photographers, students and recent graduates. Many are self-published, and some are still dummies, hopefully, to be published soon
British Journal of Photography‘s annual global talent search, Ones to Watch, celebrates its 10th edition in 2021.
This year’s 20 nominees are drawn from across the globe. From Belarus and Myanmar to Bangladesh, Sudan and beyond.
Following over a year of great challenges, they represent a new generation of image-makers who have adapted and innovated with their practice.
Many have turned to document and ruminate their personal stories and journeys – perhaps because of the time we have had to reflect, or perhaps because of the restrictions that many experienced on work and travel.
It is also our first year of Ones to Watch: Community, where we asked our Ones to Watch nominees to choose one other photographer from their own personal network to feature alongside them.
