This year’s EyeEm Awards jury, which includes representatives from World Press Photo, National Geographic, Magnum Photos and more, have selected the top 20 images from each of five categories to be exhibited at the 2016 EyeEm Photography Festival & Awards in Berlin.
“The EyeEm Awards are the biggest platform for new talents to get discovered,” said Severin Matusek, EyeEm’s VP Community and Festival Director.
“Now that everyone can take images with almost any device, we do everything it takes to find talents, help them grow and ultimately become professionals in the field.
“The photography landscape is changing completely right now and we’re excited to be part of it.”
The competition, which ran from May 3 to June 5, was free and open to photographers of all skill levels and backgrounds to submit through the EyeEm web platform and app.
The Photographer of the Year will receive a trip to Berlin for the Festival, mentorship throughout the year by senior photo editors, and all winners will get featured, exhibited and published on a global scale.
