Portrait of Britain Vol. 6 Shortlist

We are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated shortlist for Portrait of Britain Vol. 6, set to captivate audiences with its powerful, diverse, and deeply compelling collection of portraits. This year’s shortlist, comprising 200 photographs, is an ode to the strength and unity that define the people of the United Kingdom.

From the weathered face of a former coal miner in the Welsh heartlands, to the beaming smile of Britain’s first Black and blind female barrister, these portraits embody the rich tapestry of stories which shape the nation. The selection resonates with a sense of stoicism and pride, celebrating the unsung heroes of our communities who have lived extraordinary lives.

The 200 shortlisted images are featured in the Portrait of Britain Vol. 6 photobook, published for the first time in collaboration with Bluecoat Press and sponsored by JCDecaux. The book is now available for pre-order with a 20% discount on the Bluecoat Press website. 

 

The 100 winning images will be announced in January 2024 and exhibited on JCDecaux UK screens across the country for a month.
