Portrait of Britain Vol. 7 Winners & Shortlist

British Journal of Photography is delighted to announce the winners for Portrait of Britain Vol. 7

After announcing the 200 shortlisted images for Portrait of Britain Vol. 7 back in November 2024, we are thrilled to reveal the 100 winning portraits. Now displayed nationwide across high streets, shopping centres, and transport hubs on JCDecaux UK digital screens, these images will be showcased until 2 February 2025.

Now in its eighth year, Portrait of Britain continues to celebrate the resilience, diversity, and spirit of people in the UK. This award reminds us of the extraordinary strength we share and the beauty in every person’s story. As we embrace change, these portraits encourage reflection, inspire hope, and highlight the unity and humanity that connect us all.

Portrait of Britain is an annual photography award run by the British Journal of Photography, capturing the essence of the UK through portraiture, elevating voices from marginalised communities, and celebrating the resilience of a united, diverse nation. Explore Portrait of Britain Vol. 7 to discover how this year’s photographers portray a country at the intersection of history and change, reminding us of the power and strength in standing together.

The full collection of 200 shortlisted portraits is featured in the Portrait of Britain Vol. 7 photo book. Published in partnership with Bluecoat Press and sponsored by JCDecaux UK, which is now available for purchase.
