Ones To Watch 2021 (NFT auction)

As part of British Journal of Photography‘s 2021 ‘Ones To Watch’ cohort, you have been invited to participate in our first NFT auction.

1854 will be presenting a collection of images from this year’s talents, on the OpenSea platform. Each artist will provide 5 images from a cohesive series (not necessarily the series that was featured in the recent issue of the magazine).

The images will be presented in a time-limited sale, possibly in an auction format, although with a reserve price of 1 Ether per image (the minimum reserve OpenSea allows – current value of 1 Ether is $3.1k), a fixed price sale may be more likely to generate more income over time (i.e. more initial sales with the opportunity for royalties on subsequent trades of the NFTs). We will confirm the format before the sale goes live.

For this initial auction we are not including a physical print, this is purely digital ownership of a solo edition of each image. Copyright of the works always remains the property of the artist. Royalties will be allocated on subsequent future sales of each NFT edition (whether the initial sale was an auction or fixed price).

1854 Media Ltd will manage the entire process and remit funds to artists within 30 days of receiving them. All sales are final and if no sale is made of any of the images then 1854 Media Ltd and the Artist can discuss withdrawing the NFT for sale, or offering in an alternative format (for example a fixed price).

1854’s CEO Marc Hartog is managing this project and can be reached via marc@1854.media
